Juan M. Garcia, a proud local native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, graduated from Grand Prairie High School and continued his advanced education at the local University of Texas at Arlington wherein he achieved his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice graduating Cum Laude (Honors). Juan then earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law. All local and all further advancing his unique perspective on our rapidly growing business and demographic characteristics of our DFW area.
After law school, Juan immediately began practicing civil litigation cases then went on to and continues to practice Civil Litigation, Criminal, and Family law to this date. Juan’s rich case law experience, in both county and district courts, has been instrumental in perfecting his “NO NONSENSE” approach to every case he handles. Juan is straight-forward and not afraid to tell you things as they are, like it or not, an approach respected and appreciated by his clients.
Raul Ramires, was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and attended Mesquite High School his freshman and sophomore years ultimately graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. For his undergraduate education, Raul attended the University of Texas at Dallas going on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs Magna Cum Laude (High Honors). Raul then attended law school at the South Texas College of Law Houston and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree Cum Ladue (Honors).
After law school, Raul began and continues to practice Family, Civil, and Criminal law. Raul’s vast case experience, coupled with his thorough understanding and multi-dimensional approach to procedural rules and his ability to create unique case-by-case strategy, gives Raul an incredible insight on what it takes to win a case.
Dorian Alfaro is a Family Attorney at Garcia & Ramires, PLLC. Dorian graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and International Business. She then earned her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where she was a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Women’s Law Association.
Today, Dorian is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Hispanic Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. She is a passionate advocate for her clients, helping them navigate complex family law issues and achieve their desired outcomes.
Dorian’s wealth of experience and strategic thinking allow her to develop and implement tailored solutions that protect her clients’ interests. She is known for her compassionate and empathetic approach, as well as her dedication to fighting for her clients’ rights.
Victoria Burgess is a Family Attorney at Garcia & Ramires, PLLC. She was born in Waldorf, Maryland and later moved to Pennsylvania where she graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School. For her undergraduate education, Victoria attended Sam Houston State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Victoria then earned her Juris Doctor degree from Elon University School of Law in North Carolina.
After law school, Victoria moved back to Texas where she began and continues to practice family law. Victoria’s fresh perspective and willingness to find creative solutions is what gives her the ability to craft different strategies and approaches for the cases that come her way. Victoria is passionate about helping her clients get through difficult family law matters and understands that these cases can be emotionally charged and stressful.
Lisa Margul is a Family Attorney at Garcia & Ramires, PLLC. Lisa earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Washington College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society from American University. While in law school, Lisa was a Semifinalist in the Alvina Reckman-Myers First Year Moot Court Competition and participated in the Marshall Brennan Fellowship Program teaching Constitutional Law to 9th Grade D.C. Students.
As an experienced litigation attorney with a strong background in complex and high-conflict family law cases including divorces, custody issues, modifications, enforcements, child support matters, and CPS issues often complicated by domestic violence and child abuse, Lisa maintains a strong sense of professional responsibility, integrity, and compassion for the clients and families she represents. Her solid dedication to principles of fairness and equal justice, along with her attention to detail and unwillingness to surrender in difficult situations, makes Lisa stand out and be well appreciated by her clients.
Alexandra Lawson is a Criminal Defense Attorney at Garcia & Ramires, PLLC. Alexandra was born and raised in Chicago, IL to a Jamaican family. Both of her parents migrated to the United States from Jamaica to offer Alexandra the opportunity for a more fruitful life. She attended Howard University and received her Bachelor’s of Arts in English with a minor in Criminal Justice. It was there that she developed a strong sense of justice and equality for all. She later graduated from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA.
While at Southern, Alexandra received the highest honor in her Trial Advocacy class for being the strongest litigator in a simulated trial. She was also a member of the Howard University Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity, Inc.
Alexandra always knew that she wanted to be the voice for the voiceless. Her passion for criminal justice stems from growing up watching how institutional racism has plagued black and brown communities and filtered people from those communities through the system. Alexandra’s passion and drive are unmatched.
Joshua Tilford is a Family Attorney at Garcia & Ramires, PLLC. From an early age, Joshua has been dedicated to helping people navigate some of life’s most challenging circumstances. After being educated and trained as a pastor, Joshua attended law school at Regent University School of Law in order to more holistically serve his local community.
He initially worked in the healthcare sector, successfully fighting against increasingly unaffordable provider charges on behalf of uninsured patients. During this period, Joshua saw firsthand how everyday people can beat big corporations through strong legal representation. He brings those years of experience, negotiating against tough opponents to his family law practice, and with unyielding optimism, passionately represents his clients, pushing hard for outstanding results.
Joshua also volunteers his time and has served as a board member with several organizations committed to providing access to nature, mentorship, work, and affordable housing opportunities for BIPOC youth and refugees. Outside of law, he adores time with his wife and kids, and can be found ultrarunning, backpacking, and rock climbing, among other outdoor pursuits, or at a local coffee shop with a good novel.
God-Is C. Ike Ukwuoma is a Family Attorney at Garcia and Ramires, PLLC. Born in Nigeria and raised in New Jersey, God-Is earned her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and her Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.
A strategic litigator, God-Is brings an expertise informed by her prior roles as a Prosecutor, case manager and investigator for child protective services. God-Is also maintained a reputable private law practice in New Jersey for over a decade and was known for her persistent litigation and mediation skills, while building deep trust with her clients—all while delicately balancing a sensitivity to her clients’ issues.
Outside of the courtroom, God-Is is an adjunct professor and educates on an array of civic and white-collar compliance issues, including election laws and anti-money laundering issues.
